The blue van.
Why a waste removal company in the Midlands decided to look like nothing else in the industry — and quote like nothing else in the industry.
Who we are
Scoop exists because we kept watching people have the same bad experience with waste removal. You'd ring a number, leave your details, wait for a callback that might come tomorrow, and finally book a collection — without ever being told what it would cost. The price arrived with the van, when it was too awkward to say no.
That struck us as backwards. Nobody books a taxi and finds out the fare when the driver is already on the doorstep. So Scoop runs on one simple rule: the price comes before the van. You send a photo on WhatsApp, we send a written figure back, and only then does anything get booked. If the number doesn't suit you, nothing is lost — including your afternoon.
Why a photo instead of a doorstep visit
A photo tells us almost everything we need: how much there is, how heavy it looks, what can be recycled, and how hard it will be to carry. That's the same information a person on your doorstep would gather — just without the pressure of a loaded van idling outside while you decide.
It also keeps the quote honest. A written price in a WhatsApp thread can't quietly grow on arrival. If the job matches the photo, the price doesn't move. That single sentence does more for trust than any slogan could, which is why we put it on every page of this site.
Why the van is baby blue
Waste removal is a sector where every company looks the same: dark vans, clip-art logos, and the words "waste management solutions" doing a lot of heavy lifting. We went the other way. The van is baby blue, the logo has a full stop in it, and people remember both. That's the entire marketing strategy — do the job properly, in a van you can describe to a neighbour in three words.
It works harder than it sounds. When your only advert is the vehicle itself, you keep it clean, you park it considerately, and you make sure every job it drives away from ends with a tidy space and a photo to prove it.
How we work
- Every quote is written, on WhatsApp, before we travel. No forms, no phone menus, no callback queue.
- We load everything ourselves — you don't lift a thing.
- Before and after photos on every single job.
- Waste is sorted after collection and recycled wherever possible; transfer documentation is available on request.
We're a registered waste carrier with the Environment Agency and fully insured. If you'd like the paperwork, ask in the same WhatsApp thread as your quote — it's all in one place, which is rather the point.
Say hello
Whether it's one sofa in Birmingham or a full house in Solihull, the process is identical. Send a photo and your postcode, and you'll have a price in minutes. Every service we offer is described honestly — including what we can't take — on the services page.
